I recently happened upon your mock trial blog and really like it compared to so many others out there. I actually work for a pair of trial consultants that coach lawyers and students how to be more persuasive advocates. They wrote a book called The Articulate Advocate, which is used by both law professors and mock trial teachers in their curriculum. I think it would really help your students as it provides immediately useful answers to common questions about channeling adrenaline, talking too fast, and remembering everything you need to say as you grab and hold your jury’s attention, which are all questions I’ve seen mock trial kids ask on forums and blogs. It’s illustrated and simple for kids to use. I wanted to make you aware of it and see if it would might find it useful: http://www.johnson-hunter.com/mock-trials/. Looking forward to hearing from you soon!
Hello, I don’t see a guide on the federal or competition rules up on this blog. I’m not sure if rules are the same for every state. I know it would benefit my team a lot if we could have some help deciphering the whole thing. Included in that would be objections. Is objecting with a rule something that makes remembering the rule worth it? Any explanation on the rules and how to use them would help a bunch!
If you have a mock trial tip, suggestions, example/ examples, outline / outlines, sample / samples, template or templates, or suggestions how how to write good mock trial content, please leave us a comment.
