I am not sure what to write about next. I have covered prosecutor’s opening, defense opening, prosecutor closings, defense closing, leading questions, cross exams for lawyers and witnesses, general tips for witnesses, and dealing with forgetful witnesses, and hearsay, etc. I need the readers to give me some feedback in terms of what other questions students have.Ā Also to make this blog more interactive, I added the social “share” buttons below. So if you find an article or blog post helpful, go ahead and share it. Thanks!Ā Mock Trial questions answered here!

Mock Trial Questions Answered Here! What do you need to know?
January 14, 2012 by mocktrialblahblahblah
Maybe more info on the rules of evidence, and how to makes objections
Shut your site down. It sucks. America has enough lawyers without you training highschool kids to go into that loathsome field of work
yo brady, this is used for students to find information when they have been assigned to a mock trial in class. he’s not trying to make kids into lawyers, he’s just trying to help them do well in school. this site is helping me immensely on mine.
and to steve, thank you for a very useful site, clear cut and to the point. i do agree that there could be more info, but not so much that it gets cluttered. again, thank you.
Loathsome field of work? Are you serious? Would you rather there not be any lawyers in the world? Lawyers are essential to the court system, despite their negative stereotype.
As for this site, I think it’s great. It has helped me so much in my Mock Trial preparations.
Quit hating. if you don’t like the site, stop trying to gain attention by commenting on it. If you believe this site “sucks”, then why are you on it?? And if you don’t want anything to do with Mock Trial or the Court, why did you come to this website in the first place??? I personally love this type of stuff, and plan on becoming a Defense Lawyer in the future.
Thanks Jonny.
direct examination? š love your site! it has helped me a lot! š
Hey Steve
I am trying to come up with a role playing exercise for this mock police training course I am delivering on training police officers for providing evidence in courts…can you help me out with the dialoque?
Sure. Send me a little info steveATgrahamdefenseDOTcom, and maybe we can talk saturday
There are a few good posts about impeaching a witness and delivering opening statements at trialskillslive.com. Good luck to all the mock trial’ers out there!
an objections guide perhaps? I have a lot of trouble making the correct objections and sometimes responding to them… >.<
Ahhh this is amazing!!! Now I know I’m prepared for my mock trial
Thanks Lenea!
It would help to see a post about how scoring generally happens. What are some non-obvious things judges look for?
That is a real good question! I will give that some thought. The problem is that I just coach a couple of local teams that don’t compete outside of our jurisdiction so i don’t know how applicable my insights would be, but I will give this some thought.
Maybe a good dress code for lawyers and witnesses?
What’s a sufficient amount of questions for the whole mock trial for a defense lawyer?
A post on direct-examination, please.
Thanks Keely. I need to get off my butt and write a new post!
Could you talk about picking out objections while listening to someone’s testimony, and about arguing against objections when you get objected to?
Yes I agree, what or what not to wear while delivering your opening/closing statements.
Come on! You need to start writing! My Mock Trial is next week!
I’m doing a Mock Trial and it’s super important and due in a few days.. I have everthing I need except for the closing statement.. I have been reading your blog and it is very accurate. Although you have the prosecuting closing I still need your help.. I’ve been on a lot of other sites and they have not helped at all. Thank you. You contact me by email, anytime.
I know you’re probally busy but I need your help A.S.A.P. and if I can’t get it by today, so I can type it…. Let’s just say my B in english will be a D.
Hm… Maybe types of questions in certain scenarios, like minor drinking case where the minor dies (defendant charged with involuntary manslaughter and aiding delinquency of a minor), murder maybe run through different common scenarios and what kind of questions the defense/prosecution should ask their client(s)/witnesses before the trial in order to prepare the client(s)/witnesses
Can you do a post on calling hostile witnesses?
